Hello My Dearest Garden…

Flowers are the jewels of the earth… one of my favorite quotes that describe you perfectly.

Cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, and petunias grace the front of my tiny greenhouse.

Ever since we purchased our home in 2018 , we have been slowly filling you with plants, trees, evergreens, fruit and vegetables, containers, & many many flowers. To see the butterflies just pour in, to hear the sound of nature, to witness the excitement on my children's faces when they help me in the garden. It has brought so much joy to my heart.

When we first began, I thought I would be the one cultivating you, but you in turn have been the one cultivating me. I finished the chapter to my story that left me asking myself "whats next". Where do I go from here? Then I thought about you my dearest garden.... the changes that happen to you at the start of the season from the end of the season are so vast and no one knows in the beginning how you will look as time passes. As you move forward with your growth, as you mature, your beauty becomes a sight to behold. These changes are so great you become almost unrecognizable. There is no questioning about what’s next because the current stage you are in, the current moment in this season, is what we want to experience. Relishing in your beauty of today because my dear garden there will never be another day exactly like it.

It was a sunflower cutting day!!

With this you taught me that not knowing "what’s next" is ok. Some people are born knowing exactly what they want to do in life and some of us have to take extra steps to get to that point. Maybe this next step I take is just one of those footnotes, regardless of that I will enjoy it because there is beauty in the journey.

You have brought something out of me that is difficult for me to completely explain in words so I am hoping these visuals I share going forward will paint the picture of how you my dearest garden taught me how to live for myself...

Sincerely yours,
